Claudine Marzik was born in Basel, Switzerland and migrated to Australia in 1988.
In her works Marzik responds to the extreme seasonal changes and their effects on the environment in Far North Queensland, Australia.
Best known for her abstract and highly textured surfaces, Marzikās unique pictorial visions reflect quintessence of the Australian environment. Prolonged periods of engagement with natural areas of Far North Queensland and a sustained observation of extreme climatic effects upon them have instilled a familiarity that culminates in essential visual truth.
Marzik has exhibited in Australia and overseas. Her work is represented in public collections of a number of regional galleries.
